We are growing and seeking full-time, Ohio-based College Planning Consultants to join our high-performing virtual team. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise, creativity, and passion to a firm known for exceptional client service and a values-driven approach. You’ll work directly with students and families from around the world, delivering personalized guidance through one of the most important milestones of their lives.

What You’ll Do

As a College Planning Consultant, you will provide individualized, ethical, and compassionate guidance throughout the college planning process. In this role, you will:

Deliver an Exceptional Client Experience

  • Guide students through the entire college search, application, and decision process - helping them find academic, social, and financial fit.

  • Communicate promptly, warmly, and professionally across email, Zoom, phone, and text.

  • Maintain clear documentation using Estrela’s CRM and follow established processes that ensure consistency and quality for every family.

Build Trusted Relationships

  • Educate prospective clients on Estrela’s services and mission.

  • Cultivate positive, respectful, supportive relationships with students and families.

  • Uphold strict confidentiality and the highest standards of ethical practice, including adherence to IECA Principles of Good Practice.

Grow, Collaborate, and Lead

  • Participate in team meetings, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities.

  • Engage with colleagues in a supportive, inclusive virtual environment.

  • Conduct meetings in the evenings and/or weekends to support students’ availability.

  • Represent Estrela’s values of integrity, professionalism, and community impact -including opportunities for volunteer time off (VTO).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience in college admissions, school counseling, or independent educational consulting.

  • Outstanding communication skills - written, verbal, and interpersonal.

  • Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of students and families.

  • A proactive, organized, self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Tech fluency (G-Suite required; experience with CRMs a plus).

  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical practice.

Preferred

  • Membership in IECA or the eligibility to join.

  • Experience working with high-expectation or high-touch client populations.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Compensation: First-year earning potential typically ranges from $40–45K depending on experience.
