Founded in 1961, Bishop Ready High School is a Catholic, co-educational, diocesan secondary school located on Columbus’ west side. The school prides itself on enhancing spiritual formation, academic distinction, and social responsibility in the Catholic tradition to create an environment that fosters service to others.

Bishop Ready High School offers a college-preparatory curriculum with many co-curricular and athletic programs. It promotes an atmosphere that encourages every student to participate fully in what is called “Ready Life”: faith, academics, and service. Upon graduation, each student is not only prepared for the next step in their academic or vocational journey, but they also have a true understanding of the value of a living faith, the benefit of a comprehensive education, and the merit of service to others.

Position Overview
This opening is for the 2024-2025 school year. The school counselor will provide direct and indirect services supporting students’ academic, career, and social/emotional development. The ideal school counselor will focus on students’ developmental needs and establish short and long-term goals to provide services accordingly. The candidate will serve as a leader within Bishop Ready High School, advocating on behalf of students and sharing in the creation of a positive environment for learning. The school counselor will demonstrate professionalism, strong ethics (including maintaining privacy and confidentiality appropriately), cultural competence, and diversity awareness. Professionally, the candidate must effectively communicate to connect with students, school staff, families, and community partners in collaborative efforts to help students realize their potential and meet their goals. Candidates must be knowledgeable in human development, effective counseling techniques, career development, societal trends, human diversity, assessment, data, technology, and research on effective counseling practices. 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a master’s degree in school counseling.  
  • Meet the state certification/licensure standards.  

 

Compensation and Benefits
Bishop Ready offers full benefits, including health, dental, vision, life, short & long-term disability, and matching 403(b). Full-time benefits are according to Diocesan policy. A tuition discount is available for children who attend Bishop Ready High School. This position is a year-round, at-will, non-contractual position.
